A trait many powerlifters have is that of perfection and the pursuit of such goal. In powerlifting and in life, something always goes wrong. This could be something small like forgetting your knee sleeves at home one day or larger like a last minute flight change at the meet. Becoming versatile helps you so much as you continue through the sport. Meets don't run on time, referees make tough calls, gear doesn't always fit, the gym may not have the piece of equipment you need, you had to work OT, you got married or dumped, you got a new job, you got a nagging injury, you moved. On and on. Something will go wrong.
🔥
When you plan for the perfect day, training cycle, or meet, there will always be a speed bump. How do you manage it? Does it derail you completely? Do you work through it without issues?
🧠
Training and competing are luxuries we have. Remember, these meets and sessions are only as important as you put value on them. Try to see the macro and one session or one meet or one attempt or one warm up or one interaction or one moment is just that. One. There will be many more and how you control your outcome is the key in improving you.

Something will always go wrong - Improvise and Adapt.
