World Record Attempts in Powerlifting Meets

A CASE FOR THE CHIP

👇

The chip is only available when breaking a record. Here, you can attempt a load that is not a specific increment of 2.5kg in competition. So, if the record is 226kg, you can attempt 226.5kg to break it, rather than the 2.5kg standard jump.

🏋️

Why is that important?

🤔

Later in the competition, if you are close to another competitors total and jockeying for position, it will come in handy.

⬇️

For example:

😎You: 500.5kg

🤠Competitor: 500kg

⬇️

If you are 0.5kg ahead of your next competitor, for them to beat you, they need to perform at least 2.5kg jump. And you would simply need to match their attempt increases to maintain your 0.5kg lead, instead of beating them by the traditional 2.5kg increase as well.

⬇️

Strategy comes into play here when you know you are going to be in a close battle prior and have a record you can take, you would incorporate that in your game plan. 🏆🏆🏆
